Market Update for Point Loma/Ocean Beach

Here is what is happening in our local market: Even though the month of April saw a dramatic reduction in the number of home sales in California due to Covid19, Point Loma and Ocean Beach appear to be rebounding quite nicely. In the 30 days prior to April 8th, only 13 properties sold in our neighborhood. However, if you look back 30 days from today, which is May 20th, those numbers are already a lot more encouraging: 48 new listings and 34 properties in escrow. Way to go, Point Loma and Ocean Beach!

Real Estate Market Update for Point Loma/Ocean Beach

Here is what is happening in our local market: Two months ago, before Covid19 forced us into lockdown mode, our average market time was about 20 days. Properties are currently staying on the market about twice as long, as our clients are just starting to feel good about moving again. The good news is that we are seeing a strong increase in homes that have gone under contract. As a seller here in our neighborhood, be prepared for a potentially longer market time. I do expect that average to come down as consumer confidence will increase and as we get further into the summer months.
